Who is responsible
Inflexion is run by one person: Mono Awad, based in Montreal, Quebec. I am the person responsible for the protection of personal information collected through this site, and the only person with access to it. You can reach me at math.inflexion@gmail.com with any question about this policy or about information concerning you.
What I collect
When you book a consultation, the form collects a name, an email address, the date and time you choose, and any details you decide to share about the student's situation — grade level, course, where things are going wrong. If you write to me by email, I keep that correspondence. During tutoring I take notes on what we covered and what to work on next. No payment information is collected on this site: payment is arranged separately between us, and no card number, bank detail or payment credential passes through this website or is stored by me.
Why I collect it
Only to arrange the consultation, prepare for our sessions, teach, and communicate with you about the tutoring. Nothing is sold, rented, shared with advertisers, or used to build a profile of you. There is no automated decision-making and no advertising of any kind on this site.
Consent
Giving me this information — by booking, or by writing to me — is your consent for the purposes described above. You can withdraw that consent at any time by emailing me. Withdrawing it means I can no longer schedule or prepare sessions, so in practice it ends the tutoring arrangement; it does not affect anything already done before you withdrew.
Students under 18
Many students are minors. In that case the booking must be made by a parent or guardian, consent is theirs to give, and communication about scheduling, progress and payment goes to them. A parent or guardian can ask at any time to see, correct or delete the information held about their child.
How long I keep it
Contact details, session notes and email correspondence are kept for 24 months after our last session, then deleted. If a consultation is booked but no tutoring follows, that booking record is deleted within 12 months. If you ask for deletion sooner, I delete it when you ask, except where the law requires me to keep something longer.
The services I use
Booking runs through Calendly, which stores the name, email and answers you enter in its own form under its privacy policy (calendly.com/privacy). Email and my calendar run on Google services, under Google's privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy). Sessions are held on Google Meet, with Lessonspace as the shared whiteboard (thelessonspace.com/privacy); Lessonspace stores what we write on the board so it can be revisited later. Sessions are not recorded unless we agree to it in advance. This website is hosted by Vercel (vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy), which keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and diagnostics. Each of these companies acts as a service provider and is not permitted to use your information for its own purposes.
Information stored outside Quebec
The services listed above store and process information on servers outside Quebec — principally in the United States, and in Europe in the case of Lessonspace. Before using them I considered the sensitivity of what is collected — contact details, schoolwork and notes about it, not financial, health or government identifiers — the purpose it serves, the protections these providers commit to contractually, and the legal framework they operate under, and concluded the information receives adequate protection. By booking a consultation you agree to this transfer. If you would rather your information not leave Quebec, write to me and we will arrange the consultation by email instead.
Cookies and tracking
This site uses no analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixels and no third-party cookies of its own. It stores exactly two things in your browser: a cookie named inflexion_locale, which remembers whether you chose French or English and lasts one year, and your light or dark theme choice, kept in your browser's local storage and never sent anywhere. The Calendly booking frame is a third party inside the page and may set its own cookies when you interact with it, under Calendly's policy.
Security
The site is served only over HTTPS. The accounts holding your information are protected by unique passwords and by two-factor authentication where the provider offers it, and I am the only person with access. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, and I do not claim otherwise; if an incident ever created a risk of serious harm to you, I would notify you and the Commission d'accès à l'information, as the law requires.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information I hold about you, to correct it if it is wrong, to have it deleted, to withdraw your consent, or to receive it in a structured, commonly used computerized format. Write to math.inflexion@gmail.com and I will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with how I handle your request, you can file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec (cai.gouv.qc.ca).
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the revised version is posted on this page and the date above is updated. Material changes to how your information is used will be sent to you by email.
